  20. Well the time has come to get a Pentium, and I'd like to ask a few questions.

  22. I will be upgrading my tower 486 with a motherboard.

  24. I have two 16 meg 60ns simms (72 pin non parity)

  26. I have a 1 meg SVGA card (nothing fancy)
  27.  
  28. I have a SCSI/16 Bit Sound Card. (ProAudio Spectrum 16)

  30. I've got a triple-spin NEC drive.

  32. Here are my questions:

  34. Should I get the fastest motherboard I can afford (120 or 133) and "live" 
  35. with the 1 meg video card performance for a while?, or go with a 100 & a 
  36. Diamond 
  37. Stealth VRAM 2 meg card?  Will rendering speed be affected?  I mean I 
  38. want a usable system for layout/modeling but fastest renderer I can get.

  41. I have read many messages on WinNT & caches needing turned off on some 
  42. boards.  I am looking at comparing the Micronics, ASUS and the ZAPPA brands.

  44. I understand that the Triton Chipset is the only way to go.

  46. The ZAPPA seems the best price, but at what performance loss?

  48. What is the best price for a motherboard 120 or 133 that you all have

  57. Will Lightwave run under NT Workstation? (That is the lowest cost

  62. Last, but not least, does anyone have 133 mhz benchmark scene results
  63. for me to compare?

  65. Is rendering significantly faster using a pipeline cache vs. copyback?
